Dr.
Wayne Gersoff is a member of the Advanced Orthopedic and
Sports Medicine Specialists Practice, which consists of
13 orthopedic surgeons located throughout the metro Denver
area. He is the chairman of the Department of Orthopedics
at the Sky Ridge Medical Center.
Dr. Gersoff is actively involved in the care of both lower
and upper extremity injuries in athletes. He has been
actively involved in complex knee ligament reconstruction,
shoulder reconstruction, and complex knee surgery, involving
articular cartilage restoration and meniscal cartilage
transplantation.
Dr. Gersoff is recognized as a national leader in the
field of biological repairs and cartilage restoration.
He believes that a biological treatment offers new solutions
and opportunities for restoring injuries that cannot be
"repaired" in the normal sports medicine approach.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Gersoff has gained extensive
experience with both meniscal transplantation and autologous
chondrocyte implantation, performing over 100 of each
of these procedures. He has lectured and taught extensively
on these topics around the world since 1998. He is considered
one of the international leaders of combined procedures
in joint cartilage defects and meniscal cartilage deficiencies.

As
a leader is the field of biological approaches, Dr. Gersoff
is a consultant for Genzyme Biosurgery, Stryker Sportsmedicine
and Osteobiologics. He has developed innovative techniques
for meniscal allograft transplantation and for complex
knee ligament reconstruction.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Gersoff has developed a diverse
Sports Medicine Practice, treating patients that range
from world class Olympic athletes to professionals, amateurs
and weekend recreational athletes.
The
philosophy of his practice is to provide the best medical
care possible. Decisions are evidence-based medicine
to optimize the patient's treatment. Treatment plans
are based upon specific diagnosis, and treatment protocols
are developed to return patients back to the highest
level of function possible.
His
staff consists of Libby Soto, his Medical and Research
Assistant, David Puckett, his Physician Assistant and
Rusty Winkler, his Surgical Assistant.
